Cell Phone Lookup Helps Track Teenage Runaways

Teenagers run away all the time. They bolt from their parents' home because they feel they are treated unfairly and hate the imposition on their freedom and dignity. They may think they are grown up and ready to be on their own, but often realize they relied on their independence prematurely. It has been proven time and again that teenagers make poor decisions due to underdeveloped judgment and lack of experience. Unfortunately, the lesson is often learned too late. Luckily, it was not so for a recent teenage runaway from Oregon. Thankfully, cell phone lookup likely saved another life.

The devastated parents could not believe their popular overachieving daughter had pulled a disappearing act. In utter desperation, they looked high and low for their only child, even after the police turned up no clues. The parents had suspected for some time that the 16-year-old had an older boyfriend. The note she left said she was happy and not to look for her.

Two nightmarish months passed. Then one day, out of the blue, the girl called her parents from an unknown number. She was crying, begging for forgiveness and to be rescued. She wasn't sure where she was, having been kept prisoner in a little cabin, in a remote wooded area. She'd gotten hold of the phone when her boyfriend who'd kept her close and away from the phone at all times, fell asleep after a drunken night.

The parents were overjoyed that their daughter was alive and well, but how were they going to find her?! The police advised them to look up the phone number registered on their Caller ID, and find out who owned the phone and where the owner resides. Unfortunately, the number was not in the public directory. It was obviously a cell phone. Good thing they had heard that a cell phone lookup can help where ordinary phone books fail. The cell phone lookup did help determine the name and address of a man whose name they've never heard.

They paid him a visit and confronted the middle-aged man whose son has also left home around the same time as their daughter. He didn't look for him though: he was 19, has pulled the disappearing act before, and based on past experience, eventually came back when he needed money. When the girl's parents described their location, the man recognized it as the family summer home and guided everyone there. The girl was found unharmed, although scared and badly mistreated. She won't be running away again anytime soon. The boyfriend was arrested.

Following this ordeal, the girl's parents advise others to listen to their children and ask a lot of questions. When all else fails and they find themselves in the same desperate situation, cell phone lookup can turn a really hopeless situation around and lead them to their child.
