I Found the Mother of a Lost Child with a Cell Phone Lookup

The little girl was maybe five years old, and she was crying when she walked into my store. I have a small store in a busy shopping mall, two doors down from a large department store. It was hard for her to talk because of all the tears. By the time she'd calmed down enough to talk, I'd already figured out she was lost.

Her name was Rachel and she was adorable, smart and very scared. She was at the big store with mommy, and she'd stopped to look at a toy, and suddenly mommy wasn't there! She'd looked everywhere in the big store, then checked at the stores next door, but her mommy was gone. The first thing that occurred to me is we must find out her mom's cell phone number and call her. I decided to get online and try a cell phone lookup. I'd assured Rachel we'll do everything possible to find her family, and until then she'll be just like one of my children. That was okay with her, and she'd even cheered up.

I know a thing or two about finding information online. Luckily, Rachel knew her mommy's full name, and it was safe to assume we live in the same state. The cell phone lookup was my only hope in finding the woman's cell phone number. The only way I'll be able to call and let her know where to find Rachel. I was sure she was beside herself with worry, looking for her daughter.

Sure enough, it looked like the second person on the list fit Rachel's mother's profile. I dialed the number and heard hysterical crying on the other end. As the crying person tried to talk coherently, I waited for her to calm down a little before I told her I had her precious little girl. The screeching intensified and then the phone died. It only took a couple of minutes for her tearful mother to burst through the door and embrace her lost treasure. The grateful woman hugged and thanked me, and I was just happy to have been able to help, but also to pass on the knowledge about this awesome thing called a cell phone lookup.
